Whoohooo!!!! Alan Arkin finally won an oscar! It's about time, he is only one of the most loveable actors ever and so many people don't even know who he is. Sad. SAD I TELL YOU!!! So yay for him and Martin Scorcese who must've given up on the idea of getting an Oscar long ago. Now the big question for me is- why wasn't Pan’s Labyrinth in the best picture category? Robbery??? I loved Little Miss Sunshine but must admit the Pan’s Labyrinth was a better movie. I hadn't seen Babel or the Queen movie but I suspect that they wouldn't be as good either. Letters to Iwo Jima and The Departed though- very worthy and would get plenty of butters if I had done a review.

Alan Arkin didn't look too excited about his Oscar. Nor was he being nice in the red carpet interviews. But, I can cheer for Scorsesesese. Shame I didn't see any of the movies nominated. I need to go see Hollywood flicks more often.

I didn't see when Arkin received his award but I saw him on the TV later saying something like he didn't believe in artists competing against each other. And that's cool, maybe he felt bad that Eddie Murphy didn't win like everyone expected. I really did love his character in Little Miss Sunshine- a foul-mouthed, heroine addicted, beauty pagent coach. Very funny guy.

Little Miss Sunshine was contrived and boring. The poor man's Wes Anderson makes a road movie...snore.

Scorcese has only gotten better each year. He had deserved an Oscar years ago, but presently his current work is remarkable. What was interesting to me is when Coppela, Lucas, and Spielberg presented him with an Oscar. It accentuated how their career's have had a complacent descent, while their contemporary (Scorcese) has prevailed through obsessive study and work.

I hope Ryan Gossling or Leo can get an award soon.

Boring my ass. And you want to talk about contrived? How about Daniel Day Lewis in Gangs of New York. Now THAT is contrived and barely watchable- I don't know why Scorcese ever let him do that to his movie.

Gangs of New York was amazing. The sets are beautiful and disgusting. The story's location takes place where I live presently. I don't think I have met a girl that has liked gangs. Not even girls that like Leo. I watch anything with Courtney Cox including that new show she is in called dirt. I don't care how good or bad it is, if it has Courtney Cox in it, I'm watching it, and saying it is brilliant. That said, gangs or Courtney have nothing to do with The Departed winning or the over-rated Little Miss Sunshine being mentioned at all. As well, I couldn't imagine them owning a VW bus from the 60's. None of the characters were mechanically inclined for maintaining such a car.

Well, I guess you have nothing to say about my criticism of "Little Miss Snoreshine".

Little Miss Sunshine was better than Gangs of New York, but not better than The Departed. Na.
