Cox and WWL are a couple of babies.
'Wah wah wah, Cox won't give me money!' 'Wah wah wah, WWL wants my money!'
Lately there has been this really stupid back and forth going on between Cox Communications in New Orleans and WWL-TV, the local station that carries the CBS network. It has to do with Cox not wanting to pay "millions of dollars" to carry WWL's high definition signal. So as a result, local Cox Cable customers may not be able to get CBS, a major network, with their cable - high definition or otherwise. Instead, in an ad the guy from Cox Cable says that people can still receive WWL through an antenna signal. Hello? What television sold in the last 5 years has an antenna? I bought a TV with an antenna about 12 years ago and like most people, lost the antenna. They had a deadline set for yesterday to resolve the dispute but of course when you have two greedy corporations fighting over money, a resolution isn't easy to come by. So as a result of all this mess, there could be a blackout for this Sunday's Superbowl. So I say - to hell with them both. Let's go to WWL's parent, CBS and tattle. And as for Cox, satellite anyone?
